Studio 2 Tutorials for those interested in creating digital paintings.

This website is focused on information about dreating Impressionist-like Digital Images (IDIs).

Disclaimer: I am neither a Topaz Studio "expert" nor "promoter" nor do I get a commission if you buy Topaz Studio. Whether the pros offering tutorials cited below receive compensation or not, I am grateful for the work put in by them. Their Tutorials are well constructed and the commissions are well earned. Having said that, I sometimes don’t personally like some of the exampes of IDIs I see online, even when done by topaz studio staff and self-described experts. Many look to me like they have simply had saturation and textures added, but rarely bring to my mind an impressionist painting.

Topaz Labs: Basic Adjustment Tutorial for editing photos. A Basic Adjustment workflow could be the starting point for post processing your photograph (which could be followed by creating a digital painting from your photograph with other adjustments like “Impression” and “Abstraction” to name two of many.

Topaz Labs Promotion: Introducing Topaz Studio 2 (note: I recommend this utube video for showing you how one digital painter uses TS2 albeit I like the outcomes she achieves. The first lighthouse effect reminds me of “grunge art”. Some grunge art I quite like, so this is not a statement against all grunge artwork.

If you’re not clear about what I mean by photoshop art and grunge artwork, check out the Living The Photo Artistic Life magazine which publishes many forms of photoshop artwork. Here’s issues #1. All issues are downloadable as PDF files. And check out the following tutorial to see a grunge outcome with Topaz Studio presents and filters.
