One the Wildhay River (Indian Trail) side of the ridge, most of the benches will take you down to the trail. Some are a bit steeper than others, none have trails, some involve bushwacking. On the Pope Thoreau Trail side, the arrow shows a route that takes you over to the trail which can be taken back to the Eagles Nest Region.
